Huron
About
Huron (Steffen Schröder) is a Berlin-based IDM artist producing music with elements of glitch, IDM, and post-industrial fragments, he also goes by the alias Cybotnik.
Influenced by the music of bands like Depeche Mode, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze or styles of EBM/Industrial Music, Acid and Detroit-techno. At age 17 he constructed his first own tracks of electronic music (industrial, techno, ambient). From 1990 till year 2005 he worked as a DJ under different alias at many different places and clubs. Around 1998 his music style developed more and more to IDM and electronica, and the new alias Huron was born.
His sound is characterized by glitchy and destructive beat-structures, crispy percussions and dark emotional/melancholic pads, as if classic-era Gridlock were to meet Access To Arasaka. Low-end rumblings fall between veils of darkness with clear sound design execution. You can find his releases on labels like crazy language, mindtrick records, tympanik audio, raumklang music and ad noiseam.
