About
Point 7 is Chris Cunningham (no, not that Chris Cunningham, the other one). Being one half of the Abfahrt Hinwil project and the staple IDM label Toytronic, his melodic compositions are well known and much appreciated by the entire scene. In 2000 he joined forces with Martin Haidinger (Gimmik), first releasing music in collaboration with Martin.
His first solo work as Point 7 appeared in 2004 on the Toytronic compilation ‘Everything Is Green’ later followed in 2009 by his debut album on Toytronic called What?. The debut album is a cross-section of what would become the sound of Toytronic; crisp, disjointed, and shimmering breaks that hark back to IDM’s prime. The mixture of classic rave sounds, crunchy beats and atmospherically ambient pads takes the listener into a world where electronic sounds are being morphed like the shapes inside a lava lamp. Chris manages with this album to keep a healthy balance between uplifting rhythms and mind stimulating melodies.
New music is currently being released on Chris and Martin's newly formed label and YouTube channel called Hidden Reality.
