Metaeaux is Harley Mellifont from Sydney, NSW, Australia. Digitally processed analogue sounds, glitchy beats and melodies abound, meadows of Metaeaux's and fellows be found. This sort of music is my kind of sound. Metaeaux rhymes with meadow. A portmanteau of the words "meta" and "portmanteaux", the form of the word hints at the idea of strange loops and tangled hierarchies -- the underlying mechanisms of mind.
The aesthetic of the word is intended to match the aesthetic of the music -- A digital meadow of synthetic and organic elements. Field recording, digital processing, analogue warmth and a sense of journey are important aspects of metaeaux.
Metaeaux is a sincere attempt to give a voice to the feeling of infatuation; to cherish nostalgia; to explore memories, minds and hearts; to remember what made childhood fun; to imagine what the future holds; to live with awe, wonder and appreciation for sacred experience of existence; and to explore the wonders of outer space and yet never forget the beautiful creatures and comfort on the organic spaceship we call Earth -- Our humble home in a vast universe.
