Throwing Snow
About
Throwing Snow is Ross Tones, a UK based producer, writing anything from deep thumping techno to a more ambient type of IDM. He is a Music Consultant at Hear No Evil and runs the label A Future Without. His sound has themes of entropy and rebirth, a mathematically beautiful brand of IDM.
“Our complex world arises from fundamental laws. These laws constantly sculpt and shape our surroundings through repeating cycles, forever moving forward. Cycles interact with each other, endlessly morphing an interconnected landscape. Viewed over longer periods of time seemingly static objects like mountains ebb and flow like water, and yet over the same time frame countless lives appear like waves oscillating in a blink of an eye.” ~ Throwing Snow
With music that lopes along like a more organic Boards of Canada, with minarets hazing through through those high melody lines; a call to IDM prayer, fizzing and euphoric. I can imagine a late night car cruise, the beat keeping time with the oases of yellowed halogen from the street lights, observing a semi-sleeping world. Beaming killawatts of lush synth discord to taste, banking dizzy synth harmonics and swinging breaks with a lip-smacking, ecto-buzz potency, tempering the sheer high with a sweeping sense of melancholic majesty.
