Vytear is the IDM, braindance and breakcore project of New Mexico-based musician Jason Begin. Braindance, sub-genre spawned from his label Rephlex—continues to mutate and multiply. This infectious blend of acid, techno, electro, breakbeat and IDM now populates all corners of the globe. Vytear has been making music since the mid-'90s, but Kingtrips EP1 released on the label Occult Research is his first record in about a decade. It's a massive nine-track compilation of unreleased tunes gleaned from his many hard drives. His sound is high energy, fast paced breaks with deep squelchy acidic baselines, detuned melodies that keep you on your toes.
